GTS Flexible Materials’ products can be found in a wide range of applications globally. From electric vehicle batteries in passenger cars to medical diagnostic equipment, to power convertors for renewable energy sources and transportation, GTS provides flexible laminates and insulation for the most demanding of applications and industries.

GTS has three manufacturing / warehousing units in Ebbw Vale and has been based on the Rassau Industrial Estate since 1991, with subsidiary offices in Germany and France servicing its wide export business requirements. GTS also has significant levels of business in China and Korea demonstrating the Company’s global reach.

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN


Your responsibilities:
  • Testing and release of Raw, WIP (work-in-progress), and Finished Goods
  • The inspection of products during manufacturing in all areas against customer and internal requirements
  • Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects, working with mixed discipline teams
  • Support the investigation and resolution of customer concerns
  • Involvement in on-site Process and Product Audits
Key skills and requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above including Maths, English and Science
  • BTEC or above in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science although not essentially would be an advantage
  • 2 years plus experience within a manufacturing Quality or laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949
  • Evidence of Continuous Improvement experience
  • Good problem-solving skills and experiences
  • Knowledge and experience of Business Improvement Techniques including 5S and/or Six Sigma would be an advantage but not essential
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Efficient, accurate and organised

Hours:

Training and probation period is 3-6 months for this position and typically on a day's shift pattern.

On successful completion of the probation period the Quality Technician will be employed on 12-hour, 7-day continental shift pattern. Which is 7 shifts in 14 days, alternating days, and nights.

    PRODUCTION AND MATERIALS PLANNER


    We are recruiting for a Production and Materials Planner to organise production according to customer demand requirements whilst ensuring quality standards are adhered to. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all materials required to complete the production process according to the schedule are available in a timely manner.
    The Production and Material Planner will ensure our goods are produced for distribution on time, in full and in a profitable manner.
    The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team responsible manufacturing products, managing customer’s requirements, liaising heavily with other departments from initial order to delivery, meeting agreed service levels and monitoring lead-times

    Your responsibilities:
    • Plan all sales orders onto the Company’s database
    • Liaise with sales to determine customer requirements
    • Collaborate with quality function to ensure planning maximises the quality of the output
    • Develop a production plan / schedule to meet OTIF
    • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
    • Coordination of material, ensuring all requirements are scheduled to meet the customer requirements
    • Liaise with the Supply Chain Manager in the development of inventory management strategies to ensure availability of products
    • Issue planned work to production process areas
    • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
    • Communicate potential issues before they arise and inform management
    • Address any unexpected issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
    • Use bespoke ERP / MRP capacity planning tools to forecast production constraints
    • Liaise with technical team to allow sufficient time for the production of technical development products
    • Provide data analysis, including the production and publication of daily dashboards and ad hoc analysis requirements to drive improvements across the business (e.g scrap reduction)
    • Produce weekly production schedules
    • Produce weekly / monthly production cost reports
    • Manage and maintain a comprehensive set of production related KPIS
    • Proactively identify areas that require improvement, devise solutions and engage with stakeholders to lead action plans
    • Compile detailed manufacturing output figures for month end reporting
    Key skills and requirements:
    • Proven experience as a Production and Materials Planner
    • Experience of planning & managing demand streams - should be able to work under pressure and be able to react and adjust to the daily changing conditions typical in a dynamic business
    • To be production focused whilst also being driven by quality and delivering outstanding customer service
    • Highly analytical mindset, experienced in using data to drive change and process improvements
    • Good knowledge of excel for data extraction and manipulation
    • Excellent people skills, combined with strong communication and organisation skills, are required to work effectively across business functions, communicating with departments & ensuring service levels are on a right-first-time basis
    • Experience of working in the automotive industry would be preferred although not essential
    • Knowledge of EFACS (the Company’s ERP system) would be helpful although again not essential
    Salary:
    • The salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience

      Machine operator


      Your responsibilities:
      • To operate our equipment and machinery in a safe manner, complying with our Health & Safety Policy, using any protective clothing and/or safety equipment provided
      • Ensuring that the material produced is of acceptable quality at all times, in-line with the online inspection procedures provided
      • Producing the our products as directed by the manufacturing schedule, work instructions and specifications as nominated
      • Any other reasonable duties deemed necessary in the production process as directed by a company supervisor, Manager or Director
      Key skills and requirements:
      • Experience within a manufacturing environment
      • Experience operating machines
      • Experience in Quality Assurance
      • Basic level in Literacy & Numeracy
      • Ability to work as part of a team
      • Available to work shifts
      Hours:

      Training and probation period is typically 3-6 months for this position

      We currently operate 3 shift patterns:

      • Shift 1 - 24/7 = 7 shifts over 14 days at 12 hours per shift (includes weekends and bank holidays) alternate weekly days and nights
      • Shift 2 - 24/4 = Monday – Thursday 12 hours per shift, alternates weekly days and nights
      • Shift 3 – Week 1 = Monday – Friday 8 hours per day, day shift. Week 2 = Monday – Thursday 12-hour nights shift

      Depending what role is best suited to your experience will depend on what shift you commence on.

      Salary:
      • You will be paid weekly at market rate
